Department of Applied Genetics und Cell Biology (DAGZ)

The mission of the DAGZ is to perform cutting edge scientific research and to develop advanced technology in a responsible manner and to provide high-quality teaching and training to assure competence in molecular and cell biology and related fields. Essential for this mission is maintenance of a vital and stimulating research and teaching environment. Interacting programs of basic and applied research in molecular genetics and cell biology, integrating post-genomic approaches, contribute to such an environment. An integral part of our mission is to make our knowledge publicly available through publications, scientific and public presentations, workshops, contributions to educational programs, the training of graduate and postgraduate students, and to secure our intellectual property by patenting and licensing to the commercial sector.
